Make sure to use the appropriate drying program
The selected program may not be suitable for the type of laundry loaded in to your dryer. Check the care labels on your clothes and your user manual for the most appropriate program. Select additional functions if needed.
If the procedures described above do not work, consult your user manual.
Avoid overloading the appliance
Clothes dryers come in various load capacities. Overloading the appliance will affect performance and may prevent laundry from drying completely. If you suspect this to be the case, run the appliance with a lighter load.
Please check your user manual for the program and its specific laundry capacity.
Check that the appliance is cleaned properly
The cleanliness of your heat pump dryer and it's sensors, will greatly effect your dryers performance.
Check that the lint filter empty and remains unblocked
Your dryer might not be able to dry laundry completely if the lint filter is clogged. The lint filter gathers fluff and fibres from clothes and needs to be cleaned after every drying cycle. The lint filter is located on the inside rim of the door.
To clean the lint filter, open the door and pull the lint filter upward to remove it. Remove the lint gathered on the screens by hand or with a soft cloth. If the filter is heavily clogged, wash it under the tap with warm water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling and using your dryer. Before placing the filter back in its housing, give the housing itself a wipe as lint also gathers in this area.
Check the base filter is clean
Heat pump and condenser dryers have an additional filter located behind a flap at the base of your dryer- referred to as a base filter. A blocked base filter may cause longer drying times. These filters catch fluff and fibres that get through the initial lint filter. The base filter needs to be cleaned periodically- depending on how frequently your dryer is used.
- Open the flap at the front of your dryer.
- Un-screw the locking levers by turning them towards each other.
- Remove the plastic base filter and clean the base filter thoroughly using a lightly damp cloth.
- Re-install the base filter and lock into place using the locking levers.
- Close the filter cover door, until it locks into position.
Clean the heat exchanger
As necessary, or at least once every two months, you should remove the fluff from the heat exchanger using a sponge or soft brush. The heat exchanger is located directly behind the base filter and visible when you remove the base filter.
When doing this, please wear gloves to protect your hands.
Clean the moisture sensor
Within your clothes dryer is a small moisture sensor. It is located within the inside of the drum (on the far side of the lint filter)- pictured below and location indicated by the red arrow.
Periodically give this a wipe with a clean cloth to remove any lint.
